Express Waste offers Curbside Service to all residents.

Please check the map below for your service day. 

To inquire about this service, call Express at 313-933-7000.

  • Curbside Service requires waste and recycling to be at the curb by 7:00 A.M. on the day of pickup. Please do not place items at the curb before 6:00 P.M. the evening before your service day.

All materials must be at the curb by 7:00 A.M.

Billing

April 1st is the start of a new contract year.

Invoices

Your invoice will be mailed to you. You may receive it via email if you wish to sign up for digital payments. Enroll at: www.expresswm.com. Your invoice will be for the quarterly amount.but you must pay the annual total to receive the discount (see below).

Senior Discount

If you are over the age of 62, you will qualify for a $1.00 monthly senior discount. To provide proof of age, please send a copy of your driver’s license to [email protected] or mail it to 22001 Hoover Rd., Warren, MI 48089.

Annual Discount

With each contract year, Express Waste will offer a discount available to every resident who pre-pays for the year (April 1, 2026 – March 31, 2027). Any outstanding balance must be paid in full to receive this discount. If you wish to receive the annual discounted rate, payment in full must be received by April 15, 2026.

Waste & Recycling

Bulk & special pick up is available weekly in reasonable quantities.

Unacceptable Waste Materials

Unacceptable waste items include, but is not limited to:

  • Tires
  • Concrete
  • Fencing
  • Contractor generated materials
  • Liquids including paints, pesticides, gasoline, etc. (dried paint or paint mixed with kitty litter is allowed)
  • Car parts
  • Appliances containing Freon
  • Flourescent bulds
  • Human or pet excrements
  • Animal bodies
  • Car Batteries
  • Lithium-ion (Li-ion) Batteries
  • Propane tanks
Recycling

Acceptable recycling items include:

  • Newspaper (including glossy inserts)
  • Brown paper bags
  • Plastics #1-7
  • Magazines, catalogs, junk mail
  • Paper, paperboard (Rolls for paper towel, toilet paper, wrapping paper)
  • Cardboard (cut to 24” x 24” pieces)
  • Glass bottles and jars (any color)
  • Wine and alcohol bottles (please rinse)
  • Metal and steel cans (please rinse)
  • Aluminum cans
  • Metal pots, pans, tins, and utensils

Compost / Yard Waste

Weekly pick up begins the week of March 30th through December 11th, 2026.

During the season, compost / yard waste is collected weekly on your service day.

Compost / Yard Waste Guidelines
  • Yard Waste is to be placed in a brown yard bags or in 32-gallon plastic containers clearly maked with an “X” or “YARD WASTE” facing the street.
  • Branches must not be more than two (2) inches in diameter, no longer than four (4) feet in length, and must be bundled.
  • Bundles and containers must weight less than fifty (50) pounds.
  • No tree stumps or trunks are accepted.
  • No compost in plastic bags will be accepted.

Holiday Pick Up Schedule

If a holiday falls on or before your scheduled service day, pickup will be one day later than normal.

We observe the following holidays:

  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Day
